Hi there, my friend just gave me a tree from her yard but neither of us know the species of the tree. At the first week after planting in my yard, the tree looks healthy and great. But recently it changed to this look and unhealthy. I really don’t know is this too much watering or too dry?
The last picture is just after planting.
Really appreciate any help.
Hello @Mixixi
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tree.
It appears to be stressed and dehydrated, I suggest increasing your watering schedule and using Seasol 600ml Complete Garden Health Treatment.
Let me call on our experienced members @Noelle and @mitch1972 for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @Mixixi
I'd have to agree with Eric here - your tree looks extremely dry! Deep watering a couple of times every week and a seaweed tonic may aid in reviving it.
Thanks dear Eric, I will water my tree everyday since now and use the seasol treatment👍
Hi dear Noelle, thank you for your advice. Do you know the plant name by the way?
Hi again @Mixixi
It looks a little like an umbrella tree to me - Schefflera actinophylla. Be careful - in some locations this can be quite invasive and may e classed as a weed.
Morning @Mixixi I agree with Eric and Noelle. Transplant shock. Seasol will help with the shock and keep it well watered to let it recover and regrow 🌿
