How to revive a sick Hibiscus?

Hi all.

I have a hibiscus that I have grown from a 30cm cutting. It currently stands about 2 mtrs tall but is very devoid of leaves and flowers. There is new growth but it is very stunted. I am not sure if the soil is the best. A few weeks ago I placed some Osmocote slow release fertiliser around it so I will need to wait a while for it to take effect.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am in NW Sydney.

Regards,

Steve

Re: Sick Hibiscus

OK,

Compost added, shrub pruned, sprayed with white oil that I already had, Ph is pretty well spot on, about 6.5, although I am colour blind so that does not help!

When digging the compost in I noticed a few worms, which of course is good.

After a good water, soil is tretaing moisture, also good.

We'll see how it goes.

Regards,

Steve

Re: Sick Hibiscus

Good onya mate , now we wait and see what happens. Earthworms are a brilliant sign to good soil health !!!!

Re: Sick Hibiscus

That's great to hear @SteveC. I'm sure the Hisbicus will appreciate the care.

Keep us updated on the progress.
