Re: How to repair an AEG fusion lawnmower?

The lawnmower did not start and had been bringing in to Bunnings warehouse Mt Roskill in Auckland with the two batteries and chargers last week and also had brought into the AEG tools repair company called Hitools in East Tamaki, Auckland and the costs of repairer for the AEG lawnmower was about $300-500 depending on the problem of the lawnmower including only three months warranty only and the problem could be the inside of the motor that needed to be replaced with some parts.

Hello @moroland

Did you end up having the mower repaired? Is it still not working? How long have you had the mower and is it still under warranty? I'm currently unaware of any repair manuals for the AEG fusion lawnmower.

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to repair an AEG fusion lawnmower?

Hi @moroland

The mower comes with a 3yr repair warranty and if you managed to register it on the AEG web site, they double it to 6yrs. In either case you will need some form of proof of purchase like the original Bunnings receipt. Failing that, a bank statement for the purchase price should cover it.

The last thing you want to do is attempt to repair it yourself as that will void the warranty. If you call 0800 234 797 during business hours AEG will direct you to the nearest service agent or if it's too far they can assist there too.

There are too many variable internally to attempt fixing it yourself. There isn't actually much inside and it's all electronic plug and play components. It could even be a dodgy wire connection or one of the operating switches. The is why @EricL wasn't able to locate internal breakdown manuals.

Having said all that if it's cutting out, which I assume under heavy load can be caused by a few factors. It would help to know under what conditions the mower is cutting out?

1. Long grass, long wet grass etc. can cause the mower to cut out due to the protection system in both the batteries and brushless motor electronics. Mowing at a higher height and working your way down in height or use a line trimmer to make a head start.

2. What size are both your batteries and can you please supply a photo? I would recommend min 2 x 6Ahr. Any less and the mower will cut out more easily. Regardless of size, both batteries need to be the same size as mixing them does have an impact.

3. One of the batteries could be faulty as in some don't always communicate well with the electronics of brushless motors. Do you have access to other batteries to try? And of course you know it takes two batteries to run the mower.
