Re: how to sharpen hedge sheares
Hello @jan50
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your garden shears.
Maintaining sharp hedge shears is essential for efficient and precise trimming. To sharpen your hedge shears using products available at Bunnings, begin by thoroughly cleaning the blades to remove any dirt, sap, or debris, as residues can hinder the sharpening process. Once clean, you can use the Cyclone Sharpening and Maintenance Kit, which includes a graphite stone sharpener and maintenance oil, to restore the blade's edge.
Alternatively, the Bahco SHARP-X Carbide Blade Sharpener is another excellent tool designed for quick and professional sharpening of various blades. After sharpening, it's advisable to apply a few drops of the included maintenance oil to the blades to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation. Regular maintenance using these tools will keep your hedge shears in optimal condition, making your gardening tasks more efficient and enjoyable.
