I paved the courtyard about 2 months ago and planted dwarf mondo between the pavers. All was looking good, however now the mondo is being covered in little weeds (look like clovers) and they're a massive pain to pull out (and near impossible to totally remove). Any suggestions for a weed killer that's not going to destroy the mondo?
Hi @n860cr,
Thank you for your question about how to control weeds around your mondo grass.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of a product that will control the clover while leaving the mondo grass unharmed.
While clover can be controlled with herbicides such as Zero Triple Strike Garden Weedkiller Concentrate, due to the close proximity of the mondo grass, I would suggest removing any clover that is very close to the mondo grass by hand and applying any herbicides with a Yates Zero Weeding Herbicide Applicator Brush or even a cheap paintbrush to ensure it does not come in contact with the mondo grass.
Allow me to tag @Noelle and @robchin to see if they are aware of any other suitable methods.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
Hi @n860cr
You could try a selective broadleaf weedkiller, like those used on lawns to control clovers, etc. This type of product should not affect the mondo grass as it is not a broadleaf, but I'd try it on a small patch first, before tackling the entire paved area
