I have some areas of Paspalum ( residue of a cattle paddock ) along with many different weeds also. What is the easiest & best way to remove all of this. It is in my front garden & would like to make it look a lot nicer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Delma. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing Paspalum.
I'd recommend using David Grays 500ml Crab Grass and Clover Killer Selective Herbicide, as it will control Paspalum and a variety of other common lawn weeds. If these weeds are amongst a Buffalo or Kikuyu lawn, then spot spraying is recommended as some lawn damage is expected. If this is an area where you'd like to remove everything and start again, you might be better off with a non-selective herbicide like Round-Up.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell
Thanks for the advise , I wonder if the property has Kikuyu lawn and paspalum has overtaken , would it be advisable to spray all over. Will it also kill the lawn or the paspalum only.
Hi @Kintiq
David Grays 500ml Crab Grass and Clover Killer Selective Herbicide is technically a spot spray herbicide and incidental spraying or application to the native lawn will cause damage. Therefore, indiscriminate spraying will damage the lawn. As Mitchell has mentioned if you wish to start again, you might be better off with a non-selective herbicide like Round-Up.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks for the advise, so is it possible to spot spray on the leaves ad try tp save the majority of the lawn.
Hi @Kintiq,
Yes, it is possible to spot-spray the weeds and save the majority of the lawn.
You can use a Yates Zero Weeding Herbicide Applicator Brush to get a nice localised application of your herbicide.
You could also use this Garden Basics 5L Garden Pressure Sprayer Kit ensuring you place the sprayer head as close to the weed as possible and it is not set to spray as a mist.
It's possible there will be some damage to a small amount of grass directly around the application of the herbicide, but using one of these methods will greatly reduce more widespread damage.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Jacob
Thanks for the response, I have discovered that our tenant unfortunately allowed Paspalum to grow all over, hence reluctantly sprayed with a lighter mixture of about 80mm to 2 litre, today and used up all the 500ml bottle. It is sunny and more than 4 hours without any rains. Will see the results and hopefully update.
