what is the best way to get rid of weeds in the backyard without impacting the vegetables strip along the fence. Some one suggested roundup. Is that a good option or is there a better strategy to manage this issue.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @sum1989. We're really pleased to have you join us. Please don't hesitate to post anytime you need a hand with a project around the house or garden - we're here to help.
Can we please trouble you for some photos of your garden so we can see what you are working with? It might be that hand weeding is the best approach, although something like the Yates Zero Weeding Herbicide Applicator Brush can help ensure you target the weeds only and not your other plants.
Please let me know if you need assistance uploading some images.

Hi @sum1989,
It's great to see that @Jason has mentioned the Zero wand as it's an excellent way to get the herbicide where it is needed without affecting surrounding plants. The Roundup you've mentioned can be used in the Zero wand.
If you do go with a spray, you'd need to be very careful to not get any drifting spray on the surrounding plants. Using a large sheet of cardboard can be an efficient barrier, but my advice would be to go with the wand applicator.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Jason,
Few snapshots from my backyard infested with weeds.
Hi @sum1989,
For weeds in a lawn, you'll want to use a selective herbicide and not the Zero. You could still paint them with the wand, but that would be tedious because of the number of weeds you have. I'd recommend you go with Yates 4L BuffaloPro Hose On Lawn Weed Killer and spray it over the whole lawn. That will kill the vast majority of common lawn weeds. You should avoid spraying it in the vicinity of the veggies.
After the weeds are dealt with, you can rejuvenate your lawn. I'd recommend adding a 20-30mm layer of topsoil and reseeding. Here's a helpful guide: How to grow grass from seed.

Thanks for your insights Mitchell & Jason. Will get the 4L yates.
whats the name of weed in pic- stings too i think
Hello @sum1989
Thanks for sharing your question about the weed in your garden. Can I please request for a closer photo of the leaves of the weed as it is quite hard to identify as I can't get a closer look at it. Once we see the leaves of the weed, we should have a better chance of identifying it.
