Hi, I’m planning to do garden edges with mulch on it, but I’m not sure is the soil will cause the pine wood decay?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Grace00. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about garden edges.
To clarify, are you concerned about the soil accelerating decay in the Pine mulch or that the Pine mulch will cause deterioration in your timber fence? All mulches decay over time, and Pine mulches the quickest. Hardwood mulches last longer. It's always a good idea to keep mulch back off your fence, so moisture is not retained against the structure. You can place some treated pine sleepers down to prevent the mulch from coming in direct contact with the fence.
If you can provide a bit more information about your project, I trust our members will have plenty of other advice for you.
