Hi
i am confused and need help choosing a right whipper snipper for my backyard. I have about 6m*12.5m wide yard. I already have ryobi toolbox so looking to expand that range
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @anitassn. It's amazing to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about line trimmers.
For a smaller yard like yours, I would recommend the Ryobi One+ 18V 25/30cm Cordless Line Trimmer. This model is a great choice for smaller yards, providing a balance of power and ease of use. Being part of the Ryobi One+ range, it is compatible with other tools in the system, so if you already have Ryobi tools, this is an excellent way to expand your collection.
The 18V battery provides enough power for everyday trimming tasks, and with a 25/30cm cutting width, it’s perfect for maintaining your yard, trimming edges, and getting into tight spaces. It’s also lightweight and easy to handle, which is especially important for smaller areas like yours, making it a convenient and efficient choice.
If you have tougher grass types, like buffalo grass, and want a bit more power, you could consider stepping up to the Ryobi 36V 28/33cm Cordless Straight Shaft Line Trimmer. This model offers more power for tougher jobs and thicker grass, but for your yard size, the 18V One+ would be sufficient for general trimming and maintenance. Bear in mind that the more powerful unit uses the 36V garden tools batteries, so it wouldn't be compatible with items like drills.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
