So on June 1st we had a little working bee and I planted some seeds!
I planted beetroot, peas, carrots and something unknown (cause what the heck!)
The packets said to watch out for seedlings in 10-14 days, so.... are these seedlings growing or am I growing grass again?
Great! A couple of things you might want to consider @Sporky. Some organic compost to improve the soil and some pea straw as mulch.
Well done @Sporky. Good luck with your seedlings.
We put down pea straw when we planted our seedlings back in April. You can see them here - https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Gardening/What-will-you-be-planting-in-autumn/m-p/11660#M1518
Almost time for an update...

I think you might struggle with your carrots. Whenever I grow them they are never straight. Your soil doesn't look very soft so I think you'll have the same problem.
Do I do that now, or when they are 7cm tall?
Sorry I missed your question @Sporky. You can mulch anytime. Just obviously don't cover the plants themselves. So you might find it a little tricky until the seedlings are a little bigger. How are they going?
