Hi there.
I’m dealing with cockroach issue that started shortly after I did my annual pest control last month. Before that, I don’t recall ever seeing cockroaches that many around my property.
However, since the pest control treatment, I’ve been finding dead cockroaches in my backyard daily, sometimes alive. And more in my two garden beds which makes me suspect their nest is there. I’ve tried using sprays, gels, and took away the mulch on top of the garden beds, but nothing seems to work. So far, haven’t seen inside of the house only outside.
The situation is really overwhelming, and I’m at a loss for what to do next. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can provide me some suggestions. Thanks!

Hi @shirleyzz,
Thank you for your question about pest control at your property.
It actually sounds like the pest control treatment has flushed out the cockroaches from their hiding spots, which is why you're seeing them more frequently now.
Unfortunately, cockroaches are everywhere and fully eradicating them is likely impossible. While they are not particularly nice insects, they are mostly harmless, especially in a garden.
The steps you've already taken are good and without finding the location of their nest, there isn't much more you can do.
If you can see egg casings or droppings in the garden beds, this may indicate their nest, so your pest control measures should be focused on this area. Cockroaches are typically nocturnal so checking the garden beds at night could also give some insight into where they are hiding.
Things like bird baths, bird feeders and water features will attract their natural predators, like birds, frogs and lizards, which will in turn help keep the cockroaches under control.
Allow me to tag @Noelle and @mich1972 to see if they have any tips for keeping roaches out of your gardens.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good afternoon @shirleyzz Jacob has given great advice, you’ve done everything you possibly can. 😀
Thank you @JacobZ for your response and the detailed explanation. I will try to check the garden bed at night. It is really annoying seeing them crawling around the yard and garden.
Hi @shirleyzz,
I understand your frustration and hope some further investigation helps.
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.
