What Fasteners did you use on this? Screws or nails? what length compared to timber. Looks great

Galv screws (can't afford SS ;-)), the usual ratio of the depth of the top member + 2/3rds of that - but in truth I would have just eyeballed this such the screw didn't protrude through the bottom member.

I should add that I would have definitely pre-drilled the top members, even those away from the ends.
