Hello, Im looking for aome advice on having drainage for garden beds. I have a hilly slope area in my gadren and looking to convertbit into a veggie patch. Im planning to put sleepers to make a step garden beds right on the soil. I was wondering if I need to put drainage even if I keep the garden beds on the soil without seperating it from dirt on land.

Hi @jacobisaac,
If I understand correctly you wish to construct a series of retaining walls and create garden beds behind them. If that is correct then I trust you'll find this step-by-step tutorial helpful: How to build a retaining wall by @Adam_W.
You'll note that in the tutorial Adam installs drainage to reduce the hydrostatic pressure behind the wall. The worst-case scenario would be the wall failing due to the retained water behind it having nowhere to escape.
Please let me know if you require further information or had questions.
