How to prepare backyard for artificial grass?
Hi,
i am planning to do artificial grass in my back yard and I found there are big cracks.
Before i fill up with crush rock for levelling, do I need to do some work on these cracks. Or they are normal cracks and I don’t need to worry about.

Re: backyard
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mfaisal89. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about laying artificial turf.
The ground in your backyard is quite compacted, which can sometimes lead to cracks forming. If this area has had artificial turf over it before, those cracks could be a result of the turf installation or general wear and tear. However, since the cracks are relatively small, I wouldn't be too concerned about them.
Before you level the ground with sand, you can fill the cracks with sand and water it in. This helps to settle the sand and fill the gaps. If the cracks are still visible after that, you can add a bit more sand to ensure a smooth, level surface for your artificial grass.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: backyard
Hi @mfaisal89,
Let me also extend a very warm welcome to the community.
I trust you found Mitch's reply helpful. Just thought I'd add that the Bunnings team has a comprehensive guide How to lay synthetic turf that you should find helpful for your project.
All the best,
Jason
