How to water-seal edges of an Absco garden shed?

Hi, I constructed an Absco 3m x 3m garden shed on an existing concrete slab as a DIY (totally new to DIY, and highly inexperienced). With the build complete (sparing a few minor issues), I am now looking for steps to seal the edges of the shed, so as to prevent any water ingress when it rains.

Absco recommend the shed be built with the edges on a recessed concrete slab to prevent this, which wasn't an option as i wasn't sure which shed i was getting when the slab was laid years ago. Question is, how do i seal the inner edges of the shed?

Some pics of the shed and issue attached, looking for inputs from the community.

Hi @jbellerby

Thanks for posting those photo updates. That aluminium angle blends right in with the shed assembly.

If you need assistance with any other projects, please let us know.

I think I've mentioned before some right angle aluminium on the inside with some sikaflex or Shelly's polyurethane will do the trick or just the polyurethane to seal the gap.

Forget silicon it will crack over time.

Hi. I have also installed 2x these 3mx3m sheds on a concrete slab. I have used concrete silicon sealant on the inside edge shed to floor edge. Still getting water in. I then same silicon on the outer edge.some sides unable to do due to being against other sheds. Still like a swimming pool inside. The doors have water running down from the top despite putting a rubber seal for door to sit against and putting an extension out the front to try stop the water. I have had these up for 3 months and have been unable to use them. I am thinking of pulling them down and getting a shed company to come install a better quality shed.

Re: How to water-seal edges of an Absco garden shed?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Pkhessen. I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your shed.

For Absco sheds and most sheds, a rebated lip must be added to the concrete slab. This ensures that water that falls outside the shed can not creep back under the walls. Do you have a rebated lip on your slab? If not, it's extremely difficult to stop water from creeping under the walls.

Do you happen to know exactly where the water is coming from? Have you managed to seal the leaks around the side of the shed by sealing? Is it just water coming through the door now? It might be worth getting out there next time it starts raining to determine the leak point; we'd then be able to offer some solutions to help resolve the situation.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
