How do I access engineering drawings for Mimosa 4.27 x 3.69 x 3.23m Wooden Gazebo?
I want to apply for a permit with the local council to build the above gazebo on my backyard but they're asking for engineering drawings otherwise no permit. I showed them the installation instructions with dimension drawings but no luck.
How do other customers normally go with permits for this large gazebo?
Hi Bunnings team,
I hope everyone is doing well,

Hi Mitch
I too have recently purchased Gazebo from Bunnings its Semi PERM MIMOSA DCDD 3.2 X 3.2 X 3.1M Hamilton Timber.
I'm also chasing the structural calculations to get approval from Local council, I have tried Bunnings special order service however they're unable to provide that and this product is not listed on bunnings webpage anymore. I have also tried the Mimosa page and contacted them but no response yet.
Also does anyone know if there's an instructional video on YouTube?
Any help regarding getting this document will be highly appreciated.
Cheers
Hi @KraftyAnarchy,
Being one of our smaller semi-permenant gazebos our supplier does not have engineer drawings available for the Mimosa 3.2L x 3.2W x 3Hm Hamilton Wooden Gazebo. They do have them for the slightly larger Mimosa 4.27 x 3.67 x 3.23m Burleigh Wooden Gazebo.
Have you enquired with your council whether permission is required for a non-permanent structure?
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi
I wish to purchase a Mimosa Gazebo, but i have been asked by the Council for a structual report for the unit.
How do I obtain such documents?

Hi @OscarLavina,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
We have copies of the engineering plans that I can send to you via email.
Can you advise which specific gazebo you need the plans for? The Burleigh or Portsea perhaps?
When you let me know, I will send them through.
Jacob
Hi Jacob
Thanks for the reply. we are looking at the 4 m x 3m Coast Portsea.

Hi @OscarLavina,
I have emailed you the documents relating to the Portsea gazebo.
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.
Jacob
Hi,
I purchased this gazebo about a year and a half ago. My local council requires a building approval/certification. I have chased private building certifiers for months. The most recent company I contacted say they need an engineers design. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks for any help.
MMaree.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MMaree. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about gazebo plans.
I apologise but we've had the following response from Backyard Discovery:
Backyard Discovery does not provide any stamped engineering drawings because the final project would be dependent on local requirements which can change significantly depending on the municipality and extenuating circumstances (i.e. soil, surface pad, etc.).
Please do note that our gazebo and pergola products undergo strenuous testing and are certified to meet certain loads for both wind (100 mph) and snow. Please visit our webpage to get further details on any specific product.
If engineering documentation is required for approval and the product is still in packaging, I can assist with contacting the store of purchase to discuss returning the item.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
