Have stumbled upon the cyclone attachments as a way to keep little workspace cleaner and thought it was a great idea to try but struggling with the DIY aspect being rather useless!
I've got a dust deputy type clone contraption from eBay. (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/226363189900)
Their specs say 50mm inlet/outlet but I measure around 54mm ID and 60mm OD with the verniers.
I've got the current model 20L ryobi vacuum (RVC-1220I-G) with the ~62.5mm ID and 67mm OD outlet on the main body. The hose attachment end is ~31/34mm
I got a bunnings 20L bucket as my bin for the cyclone part and will put both on a cart so hose between vac and cyclone doens't need to be super long.
So my question is, what would my shopping list from the local bunnings store look like to join all this together? I had a look at PVC pipe and so forth but cannot seem to align a perfect outcome.
Would love some guidance here!
Cheers
John
Hi @aocmsi
I see your problem.
I call it creative plumbing lol
OK expanded my search search EBAY
Sherwood Dust Extractor Hose Reducer 2 1/2in (63mm) to 1 1/2in (38mm) Hose
Sherwood Dust Extractor Hose Stepped Reducer 100mm down to 32mm in all the popular sizes inbetween
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @aocmsi. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting hoses.
I'd recommend you head down to your local store with the hoses and have a chat with a helpful team member in the plumbing section. Let them know what you'd like to achieve, and I trust they would be more than happy to point you towards fitting that might be in the same ballpark. It'll then just be a matter of trying a few fittings and cobbling something together. The rubber joiners might be helpful as they have some adjustability and suit multiple pipe sizes.
It would not be possible to provide a list of products as the exact OD and ID are not necessarily specified for the products. It's best to test fit in person.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Some great ideas there, thanks everyone.
Will have to get shopping and see what I can piece together! Clearly haven't wandered around my local bunnings enough, never noticed those PVC stepped joiners haha
