Re: how do I fasten peg board to plasterboard wall
Hi @Noel28,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
As the pegboard needs a cavity behind it for hooks to sit in, you will need to attach battens to the wall, then the pegboard to the battens.
I'd suggest using a stud finder to locate and mark your studs, then use Zenith 10G x 50mm Timber Screws to attach 42 x 19mm DAR Pine Premium horizontally across those studs.
You can then use Zenith 8G x 20mm Button Head Stitching Timber Screws to attach the pegboard to your battens.
This will give you a strong connection that transfers the weight of anything hung from the pegboard into the studs, which will ensure it is well supported.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob

Re: how do I fasten peg board to plasterboard wall
Thank you for your help, I followed your advice and the board is now up and in service. I have to admit I was a bit nervious in starting the project as I live alone and am 96 years old and the weight of the board made it hard to hold in position to get the top fastening screws in place.
