Are Makita batteries interchangeable?
Hello. Apologies for the probably-daft question, I'm not great at this stuff.
But it's this - can I use the battery I already have from one Makita tool (18v 3ah BL1830B) on a cordless mower I am considering buying, which comes with a different battery (BL1840B). I haven't been able to figure this out online and Makita haven't responded! Is the difference just one of capacity (eg mine can supply 1amp for 3hrs Vs 1amp for 4hrs) or is it more complicated than that? Or to put it simply, can I use my battery with the mower?
Thanks!

Re: Are makita batteries interchangeable?
Hi @Elkinator,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
The short answer is, yes, you can use any 18V Makita battery with any 18V Makita tool.
Higher Ah (amp hour) batteries will perform better and last longer, but they are all compatible.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
