A simple deck with retaining wall made this sloping side yard a space to entertain.
The project
Our side yard was full of scrubs, trees and grass up to your waistline. After getting council approval to remove this and installing a new fence, we made a plan to redesign this 11m x 10m area. The ground was not level and we wanted a clothesline, new turf and a small deck to entertain. We also wanted a children's play area and low maintenance greenery as there isn't a water tap in this area and it costs too much to install a new one.
We ended up with a simple deck and retaining wall and will keep adding more to this area.
