This rustic, farmhouse-style clock was made by attaching a clock face to a D.I.Y. pallet timber back.
Everything I have made has been for personal use or as a gift. My boss asked me to make a wooden clock similar to one I made for our home to finish off their kitchen and lounge room renovation. Working with their colour theme and farmhouse-style decor, I ended up with this result. I included their family name and year they were married as a personal touch.
I purchased the clock and then modified it by building a pallet wood back. I used U shape staples to attach it to the wood but spray painted them black first so they would blend in. I was able to use the clock as the template by tracing it on the wood so it would fit inside the wooden circle.
The pallet wood was very dry so a few split and I had to redo the process with a new piece.
It was my first time using oil-based stain so I had to practise on scrap wood until I was confident enough.
