Composite decking, synthetic turf and privacy screens provided the right mix to incorporate a new spa into an outdoor entertaining area.
I purchased a spa and needed to create an oasis to put it in. We built a composite deck and have added the pergolas and synthetic grass from Bunnings as well as many plants, solar lights and pots.
It all went smoothly. The composite decking is very easy to put together and the spa doesn't need plumbing. Synthetic lawn is also easy to lay. It takes a few weeks to flatten out nicely and we added sand to help with the kinks. It is very easy maintenance as is the deck. I added the privacy screens next to the fire pit with a pool gate for security.
The project took approximately two months, working two to three days a week.
The privacy screen and gate took about five days total work and all up, took countless trips to Bunnings.
Community member Shay built a timber pergola for outdoor entertainment decorated with festoon lights.
Workshop member Daniel built this outdoor entertaining area even though he had never tried D.I.Y. work before.

Good Afternoon @Benjie91
You have certainly lifted an area into a much nicer looking place! I like how you have pattenered the composite boards. I would not have thought of doing it lol This is one reason I like this page so much!
How did you put in the posts for the shade sail? I always struggle in my mind "do the posts go in at an angle? How deep? what if they are pulled together becaus eof the shade sail?" All these questions cascade through my mind, I liek the idea but I hesitate always. It definently adds to your setup tho.

Is that in Queensland because I'm not sure it would pass inspection for Pool Safety. We had our similar spa inspected and were told that it wasn't legal height, needed a pool fence all around it and were not allowed to have direct access from our house even through lockable sliding doors and screens!!! Bl888y ridiculous. Also, anything that is climeable for kids can't be in the same area...
Looks great though!!!
