This pink-tiled laundry with dim lighting was transformed into a bright and modern space with new tiles, cabinets, lighting and open shelving.
The laundry was the room I avoided the most because of the beige peeling paint, pink tiles with cracked grout, dim lighting and dark timber slatted cupboards. Our goal was to modernise the space and make it more appealing as it’s a high traffic area right near the back door.
Here's what we did:
Recycled our wooden bathroom mat to create the sink cover, modifying it with some cut-outs to accomodate the washing machine hose outlet.
Tinted the window to create more privacy.
Installed cool white LED lighting, which made a huge difference in brightening the space.
Styled with shelving baskets and greenery.
This is now my favourite renovated room in the house. Total cost was around $700, including the wet tile cutter. We got a good result while also being able to keep some of our budget for updating other rooms in the house.
@MsChezzyG wow. Such an impact! The gas lift cabinet to hide taps etc is genius. I’m bookmarking!!
Thank you all for the positive comments on a few of my ideas- I love seeing what others are doing with their laundries!
