This clever fire pit project turned an unused corner of yard into an outdoor entertainment area surrounded by new garden plantings.
We transformed the corner of our yard into a neat fire pit area with a surrounding garden.
The first step was removing the trees. We used a chainsaw and had to get rid of a few trailer loads of branches and logs.
We ended up hiring a mini excavator to remove the roots and three tonnes' worth of dirt to get it level.
We used treated Pine for a retaining wall to hold the garden.
Then we levelled the ground for a final time, used landscaping sand as a base for the pavers and used salt-and-pepper stones to finish it off.
It's a great little entertainment area all year round.
A well-designed fire pit provides a great space to come together with friends and family and can work as a decorative element in the landscape. Follow this step-by-step guide by experienced Bunnings Workshop community member Adam to build your own.

Good Afternoon @burnsie
Could do with a firepit right about now That looks like a nice improvement for that corner of the yard. I wish I had enough sense the last time to hire a mini excavator instead of shoveling Your soil looks like it was clay? Have you had any water issues as in it pooling in the firepit area?
Great weekend this weekend to have one in the yard!
