replacing current shower head, rail and hose

HI

We recently moved into our place and want to replace the shower head, rail and hose with a new one.

Are we best to remove the current fixtures and take into bunnings to get them to look at what we could use

? Are these fixtures standard sizes and will be easy enough to replace?

Thanks

Abby

Re: replacing current shower head, rail and hose

Hi @Abk,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

The main thing you need to look for is the distance between the mounting points at the top and bottom of the rail. This is because to mount to tile, you have to drill a hole with a specialised drill bit and install an expansion plug. Any new hole in the tiles is a new point that might allow water to get where you don't want it, so if you can match it up with a rail that will work with the existing mounting points then this is ideal.

While not all shower rails are the same size, they come in fairly standard sizes so you should be able to find a product that works with the current holes. Yours looks to be around 600mm long which may mean you can use the Estilo Serena Hand Shower And Rail Set or the Flexispray Pulsar 5 Function Rail Shower, but you would have to confirm this in-store.

If you bring your old shower rail in-store, I'm sure the friendly team will be able to help find one that will work for you.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
