Hi there,
Could someone tell me the correct name and where in NZ to buy the tap, (valve) to turn on/off water for a toilet from the floor/side pipe entry rather than having to do it at the mains?
How long should it take a plumber to attach one?
Got a friend who can.., seems not difficult?
entry.
Inline tap? Inline valve? Size?
Thanks!
Hello @Maxtiger
You can use a toilet tap for the toilets or an inline tap but you will need to attach compression fittings on the tap and then attach to the copper pipe.

Hello @Maxtiger
My apologies Max just realized it was NZ you will need to use buteline fittings to put the tap on and possibly rent the crimping tool from the hire shop.

Hi @Maxtiger,
I note there is a push-on Speedfit Male Coupler 15mm Brass and if you cut the pipe down to accommodate a Kinetic Ball Valve 15mm Brass, that would be a possible solution. It looks like there is already a male thread 15mm connector on the cistern side, which the valve would accept. @redracer01 might need to look over my suggestion to point out any glaring mistakes with it.

Hello @Maxtiger
@MitchellMc 's suggestion is actually correct. The Bunnings NZ plumbing specialist should clear up any issues with our suggestions once you start your diy.

Thanks so much for your advice! 😁
Tradies busy here it seems the stores are busy with them so plumbing shops can't talk on phone.
Lockdown again in Auckland...
Ok thanks!
It seems cistern taps are a bit specialist. Would be good to have self attaching one.
Thanks for advice again!
