After a recent renovation we created a recessed toilet roll holder as we have a tiny toilet. The lack of space has been issue for awhile. We also added a top shelf which is handy to hold a mobile phone.
Cut hole into wall to find placement of studs. This will determine the size of the recess you can make (distance between studs). We have an older home so the distance (width) can be a bit variable
Make the frame to the determined size of the recess. Add the backing sheet. Fill holes with putty and sand.
Paint the frame white. Add marble effect to the back if desired.
Add the toilet roll holder.
Mount into wall and secure to studs with screws (counter sunk). Fill holes, sand and touch-up with paint.

What a unique and appealing design! I love it! It's not something you see every day, but I really dig how it turned out; it adds a certain opulence to the space.
Well done!
