Need bathroom laundry renovation suggestions and ideas

Would love some inspiration and suggestions for a bathroom/laundry renovation. Specs as above. 2850 x 2300 with inward opening door right bottom corner. Toilet is the main thing that will be fixed location and window against back wall limiting width on that side to 700 (therefore no shower there). Layout Layout

Re: Bathroom/Laundry suggestions and ideas

Hello @4herussell

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your bathroom/laundry area.

I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to plan a bathroom renovation by @Adam_W. Since you'll be combining your laundry area into this space, I suggest turning your door into a sliding door so that you can maximize the use of space inside the room. Since you've provided us with the measurements of the room, please give me some time to draw up a few ideas for you. As soon as I finish the sketches, I'll post them here as soon as possible.

Here is a link for ideas and inspiration: Top 10 most popular bathroom projects

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: Need bathroom laundry renovation suggestions and ideas

Good Morning @4herussell

I would like to say hello and offer a warm welcome to the Bunnings Community  You have chosesn a good project to start with!

Maybe start by the items you would liek in teh bathroom and work your way backwards from there?

Toilet (I would allow 900mm spacing)

Bath - depends on the size

Shower (seperate or part of the bath)

Sink/s

Laundry Sink Deeper and wider for Laundry type stuff

Washing machine

Dryer, wall mounted or under bench mounted or on the bench.

Storage

Bench.

I would suggest to not go for the bare minimun distance wise, sich as your door. Doors plus frames are usually a little larger so when working out your spacing, use up 900mm type deal. It will also help to make the room not feel so tight planning wise.

Going up from the base of your sketch on the left hand side of the room.

Shower (seperate)

Bath

Toilet.

Going up from the door on the right

Long bench and under it -

-Washing machine

-Dryer

-Large sink

Cupboard section and then a tall cupboard section for nrooms/ironing board, mops.

I would also have a row of wall mounted cabinets above this bench, possibly open for sliding baskets of stuff or closed if its a more formal bathroom.

Note when you are working out spacing for the washing machine and dryer, both will break down the track so factor in a little larger space in case they do. I did that with mine and I was glad that I had done so as my washing machine did decide to quit. Im talking about 80mm extra and maybe 50mm in height. If you go around looking at the style of washer/dryers you want check out their overall measurements. That way you will future proof the area.

Hello @4herussell

As promised here are some renders for your bathroom/laundry combo. I'm currently working on one more sketch loosely based on Dave's ideas. As soon as I finish, I'll post it here as well.

Re: Need bathroom laundry renovation suggestions and ideas

Thanks Dave,

Sorry I should have clarified:

- Shower only, no bath

- I don't have a preference for wall mounted or under bench for dryer however would like the option for a top loader washing machine if possble

- I love the idea of having a tall cupboard for brooms etc.

Thanks

Re: Need bathroom laundry renovation suggestions and ideas

Many thanks Eric. I love the idea of a tall broom cupboard if possible.

Thanks again

Hi @4herussell

I have to be straight up and say I can't compete with @EricL 3D plans. He's provided quite a few options worthy of consideration.

If you're keen for a DIY solution. Kaboodle offer an in-home design service for about $100 that is deducted of the materials should you go ahead.
