so I wasn't able to really post a question but I would like to tackle this myself, obviously to save on costs and would probably have to do the ceiling in tile as well. Just wondering if this is an impossible task for me to take on by myself I don't think so, but am I being unrealistic and obviously recommendations on the type of tile I will not use a bath or have any laundry room items. It will just be basically a walk-in tiled room with a very discreet looking shower and of course a brilliant ceiling fan
Hello @ameyc2
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's marvellous to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about converting your laundry.
To give you a general idea of what's involved, all the appliances will need to be taken out of the room and the tiles removed. If you are installing a shower the floor will need to be modified so that there is a fall going towards the drain. Once that's done the room will need to be relined, waterproofed and retiled. The last items to go in are the appliances which are the vanity, shower and tapware. Now I make it sound very easy, but there is a fair bit of work involved.
Depending on what D.I.Y. experience you have you might be able to do some parts of the renovation. For example, tiling, painting and grouting the rest of the installation will need to be done by proper trades.
