Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me please.
This pipe is under my sink and I presume its where the washing machine might connect? I am not too sure.
I don't have a washing machine at the moment and was wondering is there a cover I can get to put on top to stop the water coming out when I have the tap on.
At the moment when I have the tap on the water sprays out as its not covered.
Thank you
Hello @LeanneN welcome to the Bunnings Workshop Community, I have such a connection myself under the kitchen sink, when we removed the dishwasher I used a rubber chair leg end cap (with hose clamp to secure) and have not experienced any leaks in the years since 👍
The correct product to use however is a PVC Trap Dishwasher Outlet Cap

Alternatively there are specialist barb caps but I do not know their exact name 🤔
Hello @LeanneN
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about plugging your washing machine outlet on your sink trap.
It's great that you've received excellent advice from @DIYGnome. I definitely recommend using the Deks PVC Trap Dishwasher Outlet Cap. Its purpose built and conveniently comes with its own clamp.
My best advice is to push the plug as deep as possible in order to get a good seal. Please don't over tighten the clamp as it can crack the inlet if too much force is applied.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
