Hi,
We are planning to install some vinyl flooring in our laundry instead of the existing concrete. As a result, we need to change the drain grate and base to one that can seal the vinyl floor.
I need some advice on the best way to remove and install the new drain. Is the existing one grouted in?
Please see attached photos of the drain
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @payart. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a drain in vinyl flooring.
Is it hybrid vinyl flooring (HVF) that you are installing? Although HVF can be installed in a wet area, I don't believe I've ever encountered any information on installing a drain waste in vinyl flooring, and I am unaware of any floor waste specifically designed for vinyl flooring.
The waste is grouted/cemented into the concrete slab. You'd likely have to use a chisel and mini sledge to chip away the grouting, releasing the waste.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
