Re: How to replace P-trap toilet?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Beccilee. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing toilet connections.
There is a fairly good chance that you could use the already installed parts. If they are at the correct height, then they should match up. A rubber seal in the last fitting connects to the toilet outlet, and it hopefully should suit the new toilet without adjustment. A quick coat of white paint and the old fittings will look like new.
I'd suggest the best course of action would be for the plumber to attempt the installation with the current fittings. It also sounds like a fairly good deal if they can provide any additional fitting and not charge labour for it. The cost of him providing the fittings or you providing the fittings would most likely be negligible.
That's an offset trap connector, a section of 100mm pipe and then a slip joint. Those parts are much the same as those that are already there, so you'd only be changing them over so they are new fittings.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to replace P-trap toilet?
Hi Mictchel,
Thanx so much for your help!
Just wondering, the pipe connections have been leaking we think? It's a bit hard to tell where exactly from, we put tp around the joins to see an flushed it a few times. If it is leaking around the offset trap connector, would it need replacing?

Re: How to replace P-trap toilet?
It's best to try and isolate where the leak is coming from @Beccilee. If you can't tell, I'd suggest replacing the lot. If you are going to the effort of replacing the toilet, it's best to replace everything so there are no leaks. It would be the pits if, after the new install, you are still experiencing a leak. Silicone might solve the situation, but it's really considered a band-aid solution.
