How to repair a shower soap dish?

Hi there, How would I repair a shower soap dish without replacing it? Would any of the products sold in Bunnings adhere well enough for future use of the shower soap dish? Thank you in advance.

Hi @Trez

I’d say an epoxy adhesive should do the trick.
The PC-11 White Epoxy Paste is waterproof and would be perfect.

Thank you for the quick response. Another question, would I want it to dry white or clear?

Re: How to repair a shower soap dish?

Hello @Trez

It's great that you've received excellent advice from @prettyliving. I totally agree with the adhesive product recommended, However, please keep in mind that it will dry off white from the colour of your soap dish. I suggest putting something to support the bottom of the tile while the adhesive is curing. I also recommend putting masking tape from the front to back so that the tile will be be at a slight tension to prevent it from drying on an angle.

The adhesive can be sanded down once it cures, but I suggest using your thumb to feather the top of the join while the adhesive is soft so that it blends in with its surroundings.

Please make sure to wear gloves while applying the adhesive.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
