How to paint a bath?
Hi there! Just wondering if there is a type of paint that can be used in a shower/ bath set up that can make the bath look new again? It’s a white plastic bath tub and has a few marks and spots on it in an old house.
thanks!

Re: Is there a paint for a bath?
Hi @elanahealy,
Unfortunately, acrylic bathtubs are typically flexible by nature. The Rust-Oleum 946ml White Gloss Tub And Tile Refinishing Kit does mention that it is suitable for acrylic tubs. However, it then goes on to say it is unsuitable for flexible plastics. I would suggest testing the tub to see if it deforms under weight. If it's solid, then this product is suitable.
Another option would be to try an acrylic polish and polishing pads used in a drill, which might remove some of the marks and restore the finish.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to paint a bath?
Hi @elanahealy
A tip when using the Rust-Oleum 946ml White Gloss Tub And Tile Refinishing Kit is to really follow the preperation instructions. And to apply each coating thinly as it will run very easily with its own weight if applied to thick. And you need plenty of ventilation as the fumes are very strong. The photo below was one I did a few weeks back. It was originally pink.
