How to make bathroom tiles less slippery?
January 2024
Hi all
These bathroom and laundry tiles get super slippery when wet. Is there any sort of coating we can put on them prior to fully renoing the bathroom in years to come to make them safer especially for kids coming out baths and showers etc
Thanks

Hi @DavidBrent
Non slip mats come to mind as a tempary solution as an example
NuPlastex 65cm Island Swirl Anti Slip Decorative Matting I/N: 6650308 $21.91 per Metre
Or
DTA 1L Anti Slip I/N: 6820943 $55
- Alters surface texture but maintains the appearance of the floor
- Reduces slipping
- Suitable for use around bathrooms, patios, pools and steps
This anti-slip product is a fluoride based formula designed to help prevent slipping on ceramic, mosaic and quarry tiles, terrazzo and unpainted concrete floors.
It works by altering surface texture, while maintaining the floor's appearance and is suitable for use around bathrooms, patios, pools and steps.

I have never used this product so can vouch for it in person,
