Got a sandleford CF1619 Adjustable pillar end l shape shower curtain rod, told its easy ,no screws,,got home ,cannot for the life of me figure it out,it defies logic, think I’ve been robbed,,please need help!
hi @Spody
umm the instructions from sandleford says as you said to adjust and tighten in place.
I am thinking that might work in between two opposite walls so a rod could press outwards towards the walls and pin it in place.
But that wont seam to work with a 90 degree shower rod fitting. Fixing with screws here seam like the only solution strong enough to support the right angle shower curtain.
Another option maybe a bed mosquito net ring hanging from the roof with the shower curtain attached. (make sure its screwed into a rafter for strength
Well if you bought it at Bunning take it back with all you fitting return to the bag photos and receipt and they can help you out with a new solution. I know they will help you here too.

Sandleford's adjustable pair of pillar ends make fitting shower or curtain rods a breeze. The fitting can be adjusted to hold the rod in place by simply turning the sleeve to tighten. Each end has a cushioned backing to protect the wall. There is no need to drill holes, making them ideal for rental properties.
Hello @Spody
Welcome to the Bunning Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your Sandleford fittings.
It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Jewelleryrescue. I'm afraid the fittings you have are for straight wall-to-wall installation only. The Sandleford 16mm-19mm Adjustable Chrome Pillar End works by friction and compression. As you twist the adjustable end it begins to compress the pole and the ends adhere to the wall. But since you are using a Sandleford 1650 x 750mm Chrome Shower Curtain Rod you'll need to use Sandleford 19mm Modern Rod Fitting Bracket - 2 Pack along with the Sandleford 900mm Chrome Ceiling Support Rod. This is to prevent the corner of the shower curtain rod from tipping out.
I'm sorry that there was a miscommunication regarding the installation parts for your shower curtain rod. Unfortunately, there are no compression fittings for a 90-degree shower curtain rod. I'm afraid it will be necessary to drill into your walls and ceiling if you wish to install this type of rod. I don't wish to overwhelm you with information, please let me know if you can drill into your walls and ceiling and I'll provide you with more advice on what you need to use.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
