How to install Easycraft wet area lining boards over tiles?

As we have tiling on plaster we wanted to remove, is there an easier way to avoid removing tiles and ultimately damaged plaster and just have the Easycraft wet area lining boards placed over the top of these tiles or is this wishful thinking?

Re: Easycraft wet area lining boards

Hello @HomeBodee

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about Easycraft wet area lining boards.

I suppose one of the drawbacks of installing the wet area liner on top of the tiles is the uncertainty. If one of the tiles fail it could cause the panel to lean or bulge out. Ideally it would be better to remove the tiles so that the liner is glued on to a solid surface. There is also the option of removing the tiles along with the gib panel and relining the tiled area with Gyprock CSR 2400 x 1200 x 10mm 2.88sqm Aquachek™ Plasterboard RE and placing the liner over it.

Please make sure to double check with your local council about the rules and regulations on waterproofing your bathroom. In the interest of safety always wear personal safety equipment such as gloves, goggles and a dust mask when working on your bathroom renovation.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
