How to hide ugly back of toilet?
We’ve just moved into a house with old bathrooms. We plan to renovate them later, but until then is there a quick and easy way to hide this gross bit behind the toilet? Doesn’t have to look perfect as it’s a short term solution!
thanks!

Re: How to hide ugly back of toilet?
Hello @woodland_reno
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question in regards to disguising the back of your toilet.
I suggest getting a British Paints 250ml White Sample Pot - 250ml and painting the black seal at the back of your toilet. It might take several coats but the 250ml pot should be enough to cover that area. My best advice is to make sure to give the first coat enough time to cure before you apply the second coat.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to hide ugly back of toilet?
Thanks Eric that’s really helpful. The seal part is not smooth at all and all green and weird, I was wondering do we need to try and cover that somehow before painting? Like a bog or something?

Re: How to hide ugly back of toilet?
I don't advise covering it with anything else as it might not react favourably with the seal. The issue with trying to cover the waste outlet is that you'll need to remove the toilet in order to change it or upgrade it. If you are not yet prepared for that expense, I suggest just leaving it as is and just painting over it to reduce its visibility. Once you are ready for an upgrade, the plumber will put in modern fittings that will not require a wax or bitumen seal.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
