How to hide hot water cylinder and pipes?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @batt. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about hiding hot water pipes.

I think the simplest solution would be to box them in with some pine timber. A couple of lengths screwed together and attached to the wall would be enough to block the pipes from view. Although boxing the pipes in will improve the aesthetics, you'll still be left with a random box on your wall. I'd be inclined to re-work your shelving and potentially make the box look like it's part of it somehow. I've created a couple of renderings below to show you what I mean. Alternatively, you could box the pipes in and install Kaboodle wall cabinets.

 

This could be a good opportunity to do a small renovation on the laundry, which could make it more functional and improve the looks dramatically.
