How to fix leaking tap in main bathroom over bath?

Hi in my main bathroom over the bath tub. I've had a leaky tap for ages.

Ive tried reseating/ new washers ( the brass ones) so not cheap ones

Even I've brought new taps and spindles

But it still heads

I'm quite sure when I look inside the tap the breach has a little crack in it

Expensive to replace!!@ can I fix it with silicone

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @JudeKing. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a leaking tap.

A crack in the seat would certainly produce the issue you've described. If the crack is only surface deep, you might be able to grind it out with the re-seating tool. Alternatively, you can try using a HydroSeal Tap Seat Replacement Kit. It essentially provides a new seat surface. However, depending on where the crack runs the water might still be able to bypass the seat.

You could try silicone, but I doubt it would work. I'd give it a try before paying for them to be replaced, though.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
