Hi Good Day, I am going to perform a leak test in the shower area. Could you please advise on how to cover the drain before pouring water for the test? Thanks!
Ivan
Hello @ivanptr
Thank you for sharing your question about your shower. Do you wish to seal the grout first before you perform your leak test, or do you wish to seal it after doing your leak test? To cover the drain, I suggest using Bear 48mm x 75m Clear Polypropylene Packaging Tape.
The general procedure is to tape over the waste and make sure that the tape overlaps one another so that water will not escape the tray. If there is no leak, it is a good sign that the shower and water proofing are still in good condition. But if there is a little leak you can fix it using CPC 220ml Shower Plug Sealant.
For very large leaks you will need to refer to a plumber.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
