hi there.
I was running my cold tap in the bathroom, when I turned it a bit further than usual and this brown stuff came out. To test, I did it a few times more (turning it past what I usually would) and more kept coming out. Any ideas?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @sophmacks. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a leaking tap.
Don't be too grossed out; it's just rusty water. A leak from that area indicates that the O-ring/s on the tap spindle needs replacing. If you are handy, it's a job you can do yourself. Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to replace a tap washer. In step five, you'll see the black rubber O-rings you must replace.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
