The DIY project was the full modernisation of the original laundry Installed some 44 years ago. It was outdated and reflected a poor utilisation of space. The Laundry was out of the 80's. The goal was to be effective, modern whilst connecting to the outdoors as this is a main thorough fare.
This included the complete removal of the back wall, gyprock, new sliding internal and external doors, new storage cupboards alongside new shower and toilet in adjoining room. Tiling of all wet areas opening up the entrance onto the back deck improving access and increasing the property value. A huge success.

Planning
Using the Bunnings https://planner.kaboodle.com.au/ I found the planner a great visual aid and very easy to use including a 3D view. This step provided diagram for the engineer to review and a full bill of materials with an initial estimate.
A project plan and timeline was created in Excel to organise all tasks and ensure dependencies for each task was covered.
Required trades were engaged. Tiler, electrician, plumber.
After planning and estimation demolition began
After demolition the following tasks were completed:
Supports for both sliding doors
Electrical work
Plumbing
Install both doors frames
Timber noggin supports for the on the wall dryer to be hung, top storage cupboards and inside wall tap fittings.
Installed Cavi-T-Bar from Bunnings using Proppa wall supports
The right gyprock was installed for dry and wet areas followed by several applications of water proofing purchased from Bunnings.
Next came the tiler who laid the cement screed, let that sit for several days then began tiling walls and floor
Begin to install Kaboodle floor cupboards and bench so that wall tiling can commence in all areas.
After tiling the following tasks were actioned and completed.
Plumbing
Electrical
Architraves
Painting & cupboard doors installed.
Then all the finishing items installed,
Taps
Toilet
Vanity
Shower taps and head
Sinks taps
Towel racks and mirrors
Before and after plus Enjoyment
Hello @Johno30
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing the steps and material list of your laundry/shower makeover.
What a fantastic laundry/shower transformation! The new tiles, cabinets and benchtop have really given the room a new look and feel. Your sparse beige coloured laundry is no more and has become a practical and functional room.
There is more room for storage, a benchtop where you can fold laundry and I see that you've swapped your top loader for a front loader which really fits into your design. It's a beautifully executed renovation.
Again, thank you for sharing such a wonderful makeover.
