Hi, the actual Tap itself is leaking so i thought I may need to change the seal for either the hot or cold tap. However, undoing them leads to me being very confused.
I cant find any seals or anything within the tap handles.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @FreshDIYR. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing a leaking tap.
To confirm, is the leak coming out of the tap spindle itself or the spout? I'll presume it's leaking from the tap spindle, but the repair process will be similar even if it's leaking from the spout.
Remember to turn the water off at your mains and empty the lines before starting work.
You'll need a IRWIN Plumber's Tap Spanner Set - 6 Piece to remove the spindle from the wall. This kit includes the square sockets you'll need. You can see the square section on the spindle just beneath the tiles. Once removed, you'll need an Allen key set to remove the extender on the end of the spindle. You can see the grub screw to undo in your image. Now, turn the internal spindle clockwise, which will wind it down and out of the spindle body.
You'll need a FIX-A-TAP 13mm 1/2" Nylon Tap Valve Repair Kit, which includes the appropriate washers. On the internal spindle that you've just removed from the body will be a black O-ring. Replace it with the new one in the kit and screw it back into the spindle body. Before you screw the spindle body back into the wall, replace the orange fibre washer. It's this o-ring and fibre washer that allows a tap to leak at the handle. You can also replace tap valve washer, which is what allows a tap to leak at the spout.
Pop your spindle extender back on and re-assemble the tap.
Here's a handy step-by-step guide: How to replace a tap washer.
