Hi, I am the quality control in our project and had to skip the renderer as non is available
We took the tiles off brick walls in bathroom and getting ready for the tiler fc is next. We will use liquid nails adhesive and masonry screws. Anything else we are missing? What to be careful with? It’s more cleaned off by now.
Thank you
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @hubyshelper. We're pleased to have you join us and look forward to seeing how you can transform your bathroom.
Could you please clarify whether you have engaged a waterproofing specialist? If you haven't done so, we would strongly encourage you to check with your local council about any licensing requirements for waterproofing. As per the Bunnings How-to guide, waterproofing is by far the most important part of any bathroom renovation and it's essential to take your time and get it right to avoid water leaks or costly repairs, as well as to ensure compliance with local regulations.

Yes, thank you for your question. We do have a tiler who will do the waterproofing. The reason we need to redue the bathroom as the previous owner wasn't doing it properly or by code with tiling over old tiles and wrong fall. So we have a tiler taking this task on, tiling and waterproofing. We are preparing the wall for him to be able to just come in and do the tiling and waterproofing. We are interested in the proper FC sheet requirements we could not find a Bunnings video on this subject only plaster dot and dab which is probably reading around is not the best in fc and bathroom cases.
Hi @hubyshelper,
Here's the James Hardie Installation Guide for Villabord. You'll find the part on installation over brick on page 10. You'll note the requirement for timber or steel furring channel to be installed over the brick first before the boards are installed onto those.
Have a read through the guide, and then please let me know if you have any questions.
