I'm renovation my laundry at the moment and I have had to put a whole new section of plasterboard in and I haven't painted it yet but I wanted to know if you can tile onto fresh plasterboard with no paint?
Thanks for the help.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Talalatay. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about tiling over plasterboard.
You can just tile straight on top of the new Gyprock with wall tile adhesive and no prep or paint is required. If you have any plastered joins or corners it's best to coat them first with a Dunlop 1L Multipurpose Water Based Primer. The primer is only for filled or exposed plastered areas and doesn't need to be used on the paper surface of the Gyprock.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
