Can wall taps be used on a basin?

Hi all,

This may be a stupid question, but I'm just looking to replace these old basin taps, with lever type ones. I saw that basin taps to fit on the basin itself, are called "hob mounted taps".

But I can't find what I'm after.

I'm looking to get these wall taps from bunnings for the shower and am wondering if another matching set would suit our basin set up as well?

I'm not worried about changing the spout unless it has to be. So don't really care about a set with the spout.

Really appreciate any advice 🙏 😊

Cheers.

Re: Can wall taps be used on a basin?

Hi @Beccileelee,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

It depends on how the taps are connected to the water supply beneath the basin. I'm fairly confident it will be fine, but we'd need to check that

If you can upload an image of how the taps connect underneath the basin, I can confirm they will be compatible with the Mondella Maestro Chrome Plated Lever Handle Wall Top Assembly.

It is likely you will find Braided Connector Hoses, in which case you shouldn't have any issues.

Let me know what you find.

Jacob
