Bathroom renovation, sequence of events
We're planning a bathroom renovation and I just wanted to check I have the right order of tasks:
1. Isolate plumbing and electrical
2. Remove existing shower, vanity, fittings and tiles
3. Demolish floor and water damaged subfloor
4. Install subfloor
5. Install tile underlay
6. Waterproof floor and walls where tiles will go.
7. Tile floor and walls
8. Install shower, vanity and fittings
9. Silicon seal around shower and vanity
10. Install lights and extractor fan and get plumbing electrical back on
9. Paint
Enjoy or get divorced!

Re: Bathroom renovation, sequence of events
Hi @littlej,
That sounds about right. Did you manage to positively identify the source of the water that's damaged the subfloor? I just wanted to make sure it was the shower membrane or something that caused the damage as if it was a leaking water pipe behind the tiles and membrane, then the damage would still continue. It's really important to find out what was leaking and solve that issue.

Re: Bathroom renovation, sequence of events
Thank you! We're pretty sure the water is coming from the crack in the cheap shower floor.
