At 61 years of age I have just figured out, and want to steal what men have known for 100's of years. DIY is satisfying, mindful, motivating, creative, resourceful, interesting, crosses boundaries into art, cooking, family, relationships, promotes mental and physical health.
As a learner i understand the need of a plan. I am still intimidated by tools, however I snap opportunities to be shown and will conquer!
Having anxiety has isolated me and I have either been unable or absolutely hated going into shops the physical strain and stress of this has been horrible. So my husband would drag me along to Bunnings. I soon discovered that this company employes friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff, the store is not intimidating nor do I ever feel rushed or panicked.
A big shout out to the Bunnings crew at Carrum Downs who know me and greet me warmly every visit.
In short I am a newby in every sense of DIY.
However I am passionate about our footprint on mother earth and love, love, love recycle, learning, and being creative.
So move over boys nani is here!
