Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MaryH. It's fantastic to have you join us.
@ProjectPete shares how to attach to a Colorbond fence in this discussion:
"Use these Buildex 14g x 50mm Zinc Alloy Bugle Batten Tek Screws to fix timber to the top and bottom rails of your Colorbond fence. The rails are thicker than the sheeting, so your screws won't penetrate the neighbour's side. An impact driver is best, or a hammer drill should do."
Let me also tag @EricL who will be happy to help with any questions about your project.
Thank you for joining us and sharing your question about the materials used on the fence. Let me tag @ProjectPete so that he is made aware of your question. That picture that you saw is actually linked to this topic - Feature Fences by @ProjectPete. In the feature, he posted a photo that showed a timber frame attached to the Colorbond fence. Attached to the frame were two Shiplap Panels.
I recommend reading the Feature Fences topic, I'm sure it will provide you with answers concerning your project. Once you have your plan in place and you need more advice or information, please let us know. Any updates you can provide when you build your own fence feature would be much appreciated.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
